Loving new dumbbell/multi-flight setup

roguecrusherJun 22, 3:38 AM

Wanted to conserve space, since I have a smaller gym, and also create a multifunctional piece. Added JD Gym Equipped rotational handles to the Revolt and they make a HUGE difference too.

If you add uclips you can use dumbells as weight for multiflight, looks nice!

  • jstiles290·Jul 4, 5:14 AM

I have those dumbbells and I hate them. Hopefully you like them.

  • shouldergoespop·Jul 10, 6:49 PM

  • imactuallyatoaster_2·Jul 12, 4:32 AM

Oh I was just looking at the 55s. What's wrong with them?

  • jstiles290_2·Jul 12, 4:41 AM

Short answer everything. I’ve had them for about 8-9 months. They get used 5-6x a weeks for myself and my clients. They have a disclaimer now but the weights on them are not accurate until you get into the 50 and 60s. The 10lb is actually 13lbs the 20lbs is actually 22lbs. They show the weights in lbs but actually are using kilograms so they don’t add up. Super annoying when trying to find a proper weight for my clients. I’m constantly putting them on a scale to double check the true weight. The weights don’t stay on tight and are rattling and clanking already. The knob to change the weights has started to stick or become hard to switch the weights. Last thing they dont seem to be balanced as the weight wants to rotate in my hand so the heavier side is on the bottom. When I use them later today il add anything I forgot I don’t like. Haha

Thank you 🙏🏼 It’s my daily escape from the grind and I’ve tweaked it to work well for my need.

  • roguecrusher_5·Jul 15, 1:10 PM

Bummer - I feel your frustrations. A couple of things, since I’ve had a few different versions of adjustable dumbbells. They all seem to have some rattle, so that never has bothered me. The adjustable knob can be tensioned (adjusted) via a little Allen key through an opening and maybe yours needs that? The weight stack on my functional trainer (and on most) also doesn’t correspond to what is truly indicated in pounds and “felt load”. But I just track progressive overload by still assuming they are as labeled and either add reps or add incremental weight (as I would on my accurate competition weight plates and barbell). I’m totally not dismissing your concerns, because they are all valid.

  • desperate_travel92_2·Jul 15, 1:17 PM

    Thank you guys 💪

  • jenno038·Jul 16, 12:54 AM

    Nice.. but expensive

  • ant325·Jul 16, 11:09 AM

I need absolutely nothing for my home gym. But seeing your setup now I want to buy everything you have Nicely done man

  • shouldergoespop_2·Jul 16, 11:23 AM

Ya I have seen the thing about the weights not being accurate and that's kind of not acceptable. It doesn't really bother me personally as I just have some light dumbbells if I ever need anything below 13lbs and they still go up by about 5 to 10lbs so the specific numbers don't matter to me. I haven't heard about them being imbalanced though. From most of what I read they seemed pretty balanced to kaot people so that is surprising.

  • jstiles290_5·Jul 16, 1:49 PM

It’s minimal to me but I had one client who hated these because they felt very off balance to him. I’m not a fan but have a conversion with the real wights. I still use them every day though. Il probably upgrade to a nice set of real dumbbells in the future.

  • shouldergoespop_3·Jul 17, 9:27 AM

I understand that. I also train clients and could see it being annoying if your clients don't like them. I work at a gym though so don't use any of my personal equipment.

  • roguecrusher_6·Jul 17, 12:04 PM

😝 That’s exactly how I am, until I see everyone else’s gear and setups…plus it sure doesn’t help coming to Home Gym Con 🫪

  • ant325_2·Jul 17, 12:44 PM

Now I'm extremely jealous you're at home gym con damn dude that's amazing. I used to go to these shows when I reviewed products from magazines now I have to live through YouTube! I can't imagine how much money I would spend if I went. I need new adjustable dumbbells even though I definitely don't 😂

  • wmj563·Jul 17, 12:54 PM

What is the red post? Where purchased from?

  • roguecrusher_7·Jul 17, 1:57 PM

Hi, the whole stand including the red center post/upright is from Synergy. I go through it in this video more in detail. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wBDKSeQOXQM&pp=0gcJCWQCo7VqN5tD&ra=m
