Squat Rack Uprights protector

denishp1985Aug 26, 3:54 AM

3D prints. [https://www.printables.com/model/1796287-squat-rack-upright-protector](https://www.printables.com/model/1796287-squat-rack-upright-protector) I made this to protect the powder coat on my uprights. Made for 75x75mm, 26mm holes metric uprights. I use it to protect the upright when doing barbell calf raises and when resting the barbell on the crossmembers during the deadlift. Probably not necessary but something I use to keep the squat rack looking new. Most won't care.

🤦‍♂️ I think this sub has lost the plot

  • abzstrak·Aug 26, 5:53 AM

    Great fucking idea man

  • thenightblade·Aug 26, 11:07 PM

Yeah I don't get it...I've never hit the rack other than when I'm putting the barbell back in the hooks

  • canonanon·Aug 26, 11:34 PM

Yeah, I mean to each their own, but this just seems like more work for no reason to me. I don't really care if I bang up my rack. When I see scratches and dings on my rack, I just see evidence that I'm actually using it regularly lol

  • natdm·Aug 27, 3:40 PM

Sounds like you don't need it. Move on.

  • canonanon_2·Aug 29, 2:36 PM

I mean, no one *needs* it lol But any time you post something in a public forum, you're opening yourself for comment.

You gush would hate my rack. It's all banged up, wiggles sometimes, especially when over 350 lbs is on it. But it was 200$ 10 years ago and still does the job every day.

I'm so confused looking at those pics. Why would the barbell ever hit the uprights from the side like that? And what difference does it make if he's doing calf raises or deadlifts?

Wow finally a 3d print for workout gear that isn't going to kill someone 😅

Cool print! To each his own, but I love the battlescars my Rogue FM-6 rack has accumulated over the last 2 years!

  • gymbrofightdragons·Aug 30, 12:22 PM

I came here looking for this comment, the battlescars are the best part! I want a scratched up grungy looking gym that got that way from how much blood, sweat, and tears I put in

  • squire_squirrely·Aug 30, 12:44 PM

Yeah... where on a deadlift is a bar touching a rack?

  • snewchybewchies·Aug 30, 3:17 PM

This feels like a solution in search of a problem

  • bobokan·Aug 30, 3:37 PM

There's one option when it would hit it - if using the Henny attachment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=7t4Ab0ESEMA&t=752s

  • polite_jello_377·Aug 30, 3:53 PM

Do you work out with it or just take photos of it?

  • polite_jello_377_2·Aug 30, 5:15 PM

    Solution? To what problem exactly?

  • realistic_warthog_23·Aug 30, 5:22 PM

You guys don’t do heavy bar-rack throws?

  • denishp1985_2·Aug 31, 3:05 AM

    Just take photos!!

  • denishp1985_3·Aug 31, 3:12 AM

I do deadlift in the rack. The barbell is resting on the lower crossmembers when loading weight.

  • swiftmerchant·Aug 31, 3:20 AM

    For calf raises makes sense
